Roger Clark Motorsport (RCM) was founded in 1991 by Matt and Olly Clark, the sons of the legendary British rally driver Roger Clark MBE. Inspired by their father’s fearless approach to motorsport and relentless pursuit of performance, Matt and Olly built RCM to carry that same spirit into the world of high-performance Subaru engineering.
What started as a small specialist workshop in the heart of Leicestershire has grown into one of the world’s most respected names in Subaru tuning, competition car preparation, and performance part development. Today, Roger Clark Motorsport proudly serves an international customer base of motorsport teams, tuning enthusiasts, and performance drivers.
Our History
1960s-1970s
Roger Clark rises to prominence as one of Britain’s most successful rally drivers, famously becoming the first Briton to win a World Rally Championship event on home soil at the 1976 RAC Rally.
1991
Following Roger’s retirement from active competition, his sons Matt and Olly Clark establish Roger Clark Motorsport, driven by a desire to continue the family’s involvement in motorsport through engineering and vehicle preparation.
1990s
RCM earns a reputation for precision engineering and race-winning reliability, specialising in competition vehicle builds and rally support for national-level teams.
2000s
The company focuses its expertise on Subaru performance tuning, becoming a leader in aftermarket parts development for Impreza, Legacy, and BRZ models.
2010
RCM’s bespoke Subaru builds dominate Time Attack events, with Olly Clark piloting the iconic Gobstopper II to multiple record-breaking victories.
2015 & 2016
Gobstopper II claims back-to-back victories at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the world’s most prestigious motorsport events.
2017
The next evolution arrives with Gobstopper III, a time attack monster built to showcase the pinnacle of RCM’s engineering capabilities.
Today
Roger Clark Motorsport continues to innovate, offering a comprehensive range of performance parts, complete vehicle builds, and race support services to customers worldwide. Still based in Leicestershire, RCM remains a family-run business passionate about motorsport and performance engineering.
