RCM Replacement Door Window Seals – Subaru Impreza 2 Door 1992–2000

Replacement rubber door/window seals for the classic 2-door Subaru Impreza GC8 – recreated by RCM to replace the now ageing and increasingly difficult-to-find original seals.

After more than 25 years, the original window and door seals fitted to many classic 2-door Imprezas are now showing their age. The rubber gradually hardens, shrinks, splits and loses its original profile, meaning it can no longer seal correctly against the glass and body.

The result can be water leaks, increased wind noise, draughts and excessive road noise, particularly at motorway speeds. On cars undergoing restoration, tired and perished seals can also noticeably detract from an otherwise freshly restored vehicle.

With good original seals becoming increasingly difficult to find, RCM has recreated these seals specifically for the 1992–2000 2-door Subaru Impreza.

Manufactured in new rubber to reproduce the shape and fit of the original components, these replacement seals allow the door glass to seal correctly once again. When fitted and adjusted correctly, they help reduce wind noise, prevent water ingress and restore the proper fit and appearance around the frameless door glass.

These are particularly worthwhile on restored, regularly driven or high-value classic Imprezas where retaining old, hardened seals can compromise an otherwise excellent car.

Why replace the original seals?

The frameless windows are one of the distinctive features of the classic Impreza, but they rely heavily on the condition and shape of the rubber seals. As the original rubber ages, it becomes less flexible and is unable to conform properly to the glass. Simply adjusting the window can only compensate so far if the rubber itself has deteriorated.

Replacing the old seals with fresh RCM reproductions gives you a proper foundation for setting up the door glass correctly and can make a substantial difference to how refined and weather-tight the car feels.
